Dear President Bush,

Today's (Jan 18,2007) Washington Post reports that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said: "the need for American troops would dramatically go down in three to six months if the United States accelerated the process of equipping and arming Iraq's security forces."

This, with additional political and diplomatic initiatives in the region, offers the USA a solution - and a timeline - to ending this quagmire. It is unacceptable and immoral to expect more needless sacrifice by our military families.

As a taxpayer, I will gladly support accelerated expenditures in military aid to Iraq, to end the slaughter of our troops and innocent Iraqis.

Please end, not escalate, our involvement in Iraq.
