Justice, of the poetic variety, in death

I'm sure everyone (except mainstream media) has noticed that
Augusto Pinochet died on International Human Rights Day.

Good catch -- maybe they'll rename it in his honor?

What, no post about the Baker-Hamilton report? Who'd have thought it would prompt the neo-cons' last stand? Guys like Cohen and Perle have brass balls to still appear in public, much less express an opinion about the Iraq mess they were still applauding just a few months ago. Wanna place any bets on GWB's "New Way Forward?" Seems clear they're going to send _more_ troops.

I downloaded the ISG report, but haven't read it. Given the way Bush is distancing himself from it, it's probably a non-starter anyway.

You can make book on the fact that any 'new way forward' is going to be driven mainly by what Bush thinks will 'secure his legacy.' Which in itself is sympotmatic of how delusional this idiot is.

And finally, in the brass balls roll call, I'd add people who voted for Bush and his congressional cronies.

I'm expecting (hoping?) there will be a major groundswell demonstration for stopping the war now and not on the bushian legacy timeframe. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh well, a cool yule is coming. Peace.

Jonah Goldberg has a bright idea: Let's clone Pinochet and put him in charge of Iraq. See http://tinyurl.com/y3agx6

Disk arrived yesterday -- nice surprise! I'll write more later.
