Lingua Fractured

Nothing gets by Wikipedia.

Did you too notice Michael Richards referred to African-Americans as "Afro-Americans," during his apology, on Letterman?

An unfortunate malapropism.

I shouldn’t throw stones: I’m a lazy linguist and I admit to being malapropiately-inclined. Or, am I suffering from too much eggcorn, served with a side of mondegreens? It’s all lingusitical linguine.

update: check out the Lost Seinfeld episode.

Hey, thanks for 'eggcorn' -- I didn't know that one.

In return, have you heard of 'snowclones'?

Mondegreens -- I was bitterly disappointed to discover that the adjective "forspacious" (like forgotten) was a mondegreen. I prefer the "forspacious skies" to rather dull reality.

Disappointed? As in doughnuts make your brown eyes blue?
