I've always liked recycled art. It probably goes back to the first time I glued a seashell to a piece of driftwood as a kid, or something. The trick is being able to envision and execute such that the immediate response isn't 'oh look, a bicycle handlebar...' The above picture is of an earlier installation by this artist. I like how these mega-sized hummingbird nests scale appropriately. It's very much an afterthought that I say 'oh look, chopsticks.' At least I think they're mega-sized hummingbird nests.
