Here's another way to donate to the Katrina relief effort,

...while treating yourself, or a friend, to something nice to hear.

Our very good friend - and a truly wonderful musician - Erika Luckett is donating 100% of the proceeds from the sale of her '02 release "The New Orleans Sessions" to the Red Cross. She did the recording in an intimate home studio in New Orleans. The indelible mark of the magic of the place is imprinted in the songs and performance. Like so many other artists, lovers and dreamers, Erika has felt first-hand the inspiration and nuturing the city gave - and will give again - to art and spirit.

One song on the CD is almost prophetic - 'Hold On':

outstretched wings paint a fragile line
through clouds hanging thick with rain
Little bird, here it comes again.

Hold on, hold on, hold on
cause the winds are changing

The sky held its breath til it could hold no more.
When it exhaled it blew a crazy storm.
Gusts of wind and barrels of rain
rattled rooftops and shook window panes.
When it was done, when it was through
all the pieces were scattered.
Those that remained, the lonely few
were the only ones that mattered.
It’s a new round. It’s a new game.
Remind me little bird that nothing ever
stays the same.

Hold on, hold on, hold on
cause the winds are changing.
