Nature's Tarot
All these sightings must mean something. This weekend, we witnessed:
a) A whale spouting not too far offshore of Pescadero Beach.
b) A huge (and I mean HUGE; 5 feet, if it was 1) salmon, swimming lazily up the Pescadero River. One that large has clearly lived a full life. I guess it's finally time for that big gal to go lay her eggs. Let the next generation deal with humanity. Aloha, ya big lunkette.
c) We had our first serious rainfall in months, Sunday morning.
d) A cactus we have in the sunroom sprouted 3, count 'em 3, blooms. It has never sprouted anything before. In fact, until now, I wouldn't have been able to tell you if it was even healthy.
e) A water hyacinth we have in a big pot in the sunroom sprouted an amazing stalk of delicate lavender flowers.
If only I was any good at reading signs... all of this must mean something.. right?
