Lost In Translation - literally

I've been worried about seeing this movie. By definition, Hollywood never does reality justice. But when compounded with attempting a view into non-American societies, there's an inevitable, probably unconscious, puritan, bad-tourist jingoism that kicks in.

Momus' review of Lost In Translation says it far better than I. I love Momus. I wax nostalgic for Japan. And I probably should actually see the movie, before I pan it.
